Dr. Celia Rosemberg is a Principal Researcher at the Research Council of Argentina (CONICET, Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas) and a Professor at the University of Buenos Aires, where she earned her PhD. in Philosophy and Literature. Her work combines research on language acquisition with educational intervention to promote inclusive, high-quality education for Argentinian children. As the Director of Research at CIIPME (Centro Interdisciplinario de Investigaciones en Psicología Matemática y Experimental), an institute under CONICET, she leads ISoLCI (Social Interaction, Language and Cognition in Infancy and Childhood), an interdisciplinary research group studying language and literacy development in children living in monolingual urban marginalized populations and bilingual Indigenous communities.

Celia’s project involves extensive fieldwork, including audio- and video-recorded longitudinal observations of children’s daily life. This extensive naturalistic corpus bridges language documentation, psycholinguistic research, and educational interventions addressing key questions of psycholinguistic theories on language acquisition and as the basis for the development of ecologically valid language assessment tools. Her work contributes to diversity in science by increasing the representation of both majority and minority languages by South American countries in research. Besides her scientific publications in specialized journals, she has dedicated a significant part of her time to designing and implementing educational interventions and materials aimed at expanding children’s opportunities for vocabulary and discourse development as well as literacy learning.

Celia is currently Member of the Editorial Board of the First Language Journal and Consulting Editor of the Journal of Cognition and Development.
